Accommodation options for 
the conference

The Bell Valley Retreat Center has several types of accommodation, from the very private cottage to the rustically chic platform tents.

 

Each room type has been decorated in a unique style, and with great attention to detail. 

​

Accommodations for the Fall Conference will be shared. While there are no single options, both the Barn and the Cottage offer private bedrooms.

​

Please note that the prices below include all of the conference sessions, and all meals.

​

Bell valley Amenities:

  • Redwood hot tub

  • Communal fire pit

  • 5 miles of hiking trails on 65 acres

  • Swimming pond (with dock)

  • Kitchens available for each type of accommodation

  • Yurt w/yoga mats and props

The Cottage

Built as two separate buildings in a secluded area adjacent to the creek, the Cottage has a full kitchen, dining area, living room with wood stove, office space, and a private deck. 

The Cottage is air conditioned and ADA accessible.

​

One side has a queen bed and full bathroom with shower. The other side has the kitchen, living and dining areas, a half bath, and a very comfortable full Murphey bed.

​

The two sides of the Cottage connect by a breezeway.

​

The Cottage is double occupancy (though each guest has a separate sleeping room) 

​

The Bunkhouse

The Bunkhouse has its own private deck, kitchen and full bath w/clawfoot tub and shower, plus large octagonal living room with built in window seats. It is also close to the hot tub.

​

The Bunk House is air conditioned.

​

Accommodations in the Bunkhouse are quadruple occupancy in 4 twin beds. There are 6 twins in the Bunkhouse, so no one has to take the top bunk unless they want to.

​

Please note that the Bunkhouse is single gender female.

​

Tent Cabins

There are 2 Tent Cabins tucked away at the edge of the trees. Tent Cabins are wood-framed buildings with canvas walls. They have a small deck out front for sitting.

​

Ten Cabins have electricity, fans, and heated mattresses.

​

The Tent Cabins also have access to the well-appointed bath house and the outdoor kitchen, as well as the kitchen in the barn.

​

Each tent cabin has two twin beds., and are double occupancy.

​

Platform Tents

Each Platform Tent is set on a wooden deck and has 2 twin beds, and a small deck for outside seating.

​

Tents have electricity, fans, and heated mattresses.

​

All tents have access to the well-appointed bath house and the outdoor kitchen. Tent guests are also welcome to use the indoor kitchen in the Barn

​

Each platform tent has 2 twin beds and are double occupancy.

How to apply

We will begin accepting applications to the conference on June 1, 2023.

​

To apply, please submit a one-page letter describing your project and why you'd like to attend the conference. Please include a writing sample of no more than 250 words.

​

Please also indicate your first and second accommodation choice, and whether you would like to be considered for a partial scholarship.

​

​

This will be a rolling admission process. We will accept writers as their requests come in. Accommodations will be assigned on a first come/first serve basis.
